Picture of the day is from Dublin, Ireland. We visited this lovely city in easter 2017.

Gangbroen Ha`Penny Bridge over elven Liffey er et kjent landemerke i Dublin. Broen ble bygget i 1816 av William Walsh. Før han bygget broen, drev han en av fergene som krysset Liffey. De som brukte den nye broen måtte betale Walsh en halv penny, det samme som de hadde betalt for fergeturen. Snart ble broen kjent som Ha`Penny Bridge.

Ha`Penny Bridge across the river Liffey is a famous landmark in Dublin. The bridge was built in 1816 by William Walsh. Before he built the bridge, he own one of the ferries that was crossing the river. Those who used the new bridge had to pay Walsh half a penny, the same as they had paid him for the ferry. Soon the bridge became known as Ha`Penny Bridge.
